Police located the trash receptacle in question and found inside the lifeless body of a woman, later identified by family members on social media as 37-year-old Angenai Terlouw.
In the course of the investigation, detectives identified a person of interest, Terlouw’s 36-year-old boyfriend, Daniel Winkler, and took him into custody Sunday evening.
Police said Terlouw had been stabbed to death in front of the couple's two children, ages three and five, at a home on Erma Avenue, about a half-mile away from where he body was dumped.
The case has been described by the authorities as ‘domestic violence related.
The San Joaquin County District Attorney's Office has uncovered evidence of previous instances of domestic violence between Winkler and Terlouw, and more charges could be pending against the suspect, reported the station KTLA.
